Ranked 62nd out of 248 national universities in U.S. News & World Report's America's Best Colleges 2008 issue.

Ranked Among the Top 25 Most Connected Campuses

Included among the 25 universities ranked as the nation's "Most Connected Campuses" by The Princeton Review in 2006. The ranking looks at the student/computer ratio, campus and wireless networks, remote access, online registration, security, and streaming media capabilities, among a number of other factors.

National Honors for MBA Program

BusinessWeek magazine, in its 2007 report on MBA programs, ranked WPI's part-time MBA No. 1 in the Northeast; No. 5, nationally, for student satisfaction, and No. 4 for academic quality. More...

Professor Receives National Recognition

In November 2007, Robert L. Norton, Milton Prince Higgins II Distinguished Professor of Mechanical Engineering, was named Professor of the Year for Massachusetts by the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (in conjunction with the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching). Among the most prestigious awards for college professors, the honor goes to the nation's most outstanding undergraduate instructors.

WPI received the 2006 SPAIG (Statistical Partnerships among Academe, Industry and Government) Award from the American Statistical Association for partnerships with statisticians and scientists at the National Center for Health Statistics established over the course of a decade by Balgobin Nandram, Sinclair Professor of Mathematical Sciences at WPI.

Students Receive Popular Science Invention Award

Popular Science magazine chose a Major Project by seniors Christian Banker, Michael Cretella Jr., Jeff DiMaria, Jamie Mitchell, and Jeffrey Tucker as one of 10 national winners of the inaugural PopSci Invention Awards, which was the cover story for the June 2007 issue.
