For Students: Activating Your Clicker Purchased at the Bookstore

These instructions apply only if you have purchased a CPS clicker from the Bookstore for a class.

Warning!

Before you proceed, please be sure that you have a valid credit or debit card available. The activation fee is $13 for one semester or $35 for lifetime activation.

Access your class site in myWPI and select the Course Tools link.
Select CPS Connection.
Select the “Register Clicker OR Update your serial number” button.
Enter in your CPS Response Pad Serial Number. This can be found on the back of the blue clickers, or when a white clicker is powered on.
Check off that you agree with the Student Refund Policy.
When you have finished, click the Continue button.

Warning!

At this point, if nothing happens, you may have a pop-up blocker preventing the activation process from proceeding. Press and hold the Control key on your keyboard and click Continue again. A new page should open up and you can now release the Control key.

The next page is a secure link to E-Instruction's website where you will enter in your valid credit card information.

Note

If you do not have a valid credit card, but a friend or roommate is willing to help you activate your clicker with their credit card, you can enter in seperate a seperate billing name. You can assure the person doing this that the transaction is secure and you will not have access to their billing information.
Once credit card information has been received, you will get a confirmation on the screen indicating your Response Pad ID.

Tip

You should write this number down and remember it as you will use it to make sure your answers are being received by the CPS receiver in class.

What do I do if my clicker doesn't work?

If your clicker doesn't work, you should check to make sure your batteries are not dead, that your clicker is powered on, and that you have properly Joined a CPS Lesson.

If you cannot get your clicker to join a lesson, power on, and you have changed the batteries, call 1-888-333-4988. E-Instruction will work with you to E-mail you a coupon for a new clicker from the Bookstore where you can exchange your broken one at no additional cost. Once you get your new clicker, you will need to reactivate this new Pad ID by going to myWPI and following the earlier steps. You will not need to pay an additional $13.
