Creating Thumbnails in a PDF File

The following instructions were created for use with Adobe Acrobat version 8. If you are currently using Adobe Acrobat version 7 or earlier, please contact the Helpdesk.
Benefits of Converting an Electronic Document into a PDF File
- Easier navigation, especially between document sections and to charts, tables, and images.
Creating Thumbnails
- Open the PDF file in which you want to create thumbnails, and click the Pages icon, indicated in the image below by the red arrow.

- If you do not see the Pages icon, it may be hidden. Right-click on the vertical gray bar on the left side of the screen, and select Reset Panels to make the icon appear.
