Adding a Course Banner Graphic

What?

A Course Banner is an optional graphic that displays the title of your course on the Announcements page. It can add some visual appeal to your course.

Uploading an existing banner graphic

  1. To upload a banner, go to Control Panel > Course Design > Course Banner.
  1. At the New banner image field, click Browse to locate the file on your computer and Submit.

Tip

The recommended maximum size for a Course Banner is 450 pixels wide by 120-200 pixels high at 72 or 96 pixels per inch. Banners must be in .jpg or .gif format or they will not display properly on the web.

  1. Go to Control Panel > Course Options > Settings > Course Design > Course Banner.
  2. Check the box for Remove this banner and click Submit.

Replacing an existing banner graphic

  1. Go to Control Panel > Course Design > Course Banner.
  2. At the New banner image field, clickBrowse to locate the file on your computer and click Submit.

Caution!

This deletes the current banner graphic. You should save a backup copy of the old banner before replacing if you think you will need it again. To do this, "right-click" on the banner and choose Save as or Save File As, depending on your browser.

E-mail the help team at myhelp@wpi.edu if you would like a custom banner created for your course. Include your course number and official title from the registrar. For graphical banners, please include an idea of what type of image, theme or color scheme you would like.
