Hardware Available to Support Multimedia Projects

The Academic Technology Center (ATC) has a large inventory of equipment available for for multimedia projects. Equipment is available on a first-come, first serve basis.

Because of limited resources, the ATC strongly urges students to reserve equipment in advance to assure availability. Reservation requests can be submitted via e-mail to atc@wpi.edu. Submission of a request via email does not guarantee resources. A member of the ATC staff will respond to your request. To ensure inventory is readily available, the ATC limits use of its equipment to a maximum of two business days.

The table below lists some of the more popular equipment for completing multimedia projects.

Equipment	Description	Notes
Laptop computers	Dell Latitude E6400 and HP EliteBook E6930 Series. Contains academic and multimedia software including Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Premiere Elements, Adobe Photoshop Elements, Camtasia, Matlab, Maple, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, and SnagIt.
LCD projectors	InFocus LP350 and NEC VT770 series.
USB and Firewire hard drives	Portable 80GB, 300GB, or 400GB hard drives with USB and/or Firewire cables.
Digital video cameras	Canon GL2 MiniDV 3CCD, Sony HDR-XR500V Hard Drive Camera, Sony DCR-SR300 Hard Drive Camera, and Sony MiniDV tape HandyCam.	Limited Inventory! In high demand during the last three weeks of the term. Reserve in advance! You should also confer with ATC staff on the right camera for your project.
Digital still photo cameras	Canon PowerShot A5710IS, Nikon CoolPix 4300, and Nikon CoolPix 5700.
Tripods	For use with ATC video and digital still cameras.	Limited Inventory! In high demand during the last three weeks of the term. Reserve in advance!
Digital audio recorders	Edirol R-09, Sony ICD-UX71, Sony ICD-MS1, and Sony ICD-MS515.

If you don't see what you are looking for on the list, contact the ATC to inquire. Limited quantities of less frequently requested equipment may be available.
