January 8, 2007
In a 2006 study published in the Journal of Online Learning and Teaching, Finkelstein et al. found that physics simulations developed by the Physics Education Technology (PHeT) project were, “as productive, or more productive, for developing student conceptual understanding as real equipment, reading resources, or chalk-talk lectures.” PHeT has produced, “over 50 research-based simulations that span the curriculum of introductory physics as well as sample topics from advanced physics and chemistry”.
