Video-based Supplemental Instruction

An article published in a recent issue of New Directions for Teaching and Learning explores the viability of using Video-based Supplemental Instruction (VSI) as a means of “mastering difficult course content while developing and refining [students’] reasoning and critical thinking skills.” The authors contend that the existing research shows a positive effect on academic achievement, as well as on student attrition.
