Use PowerPoint to Enhance Your Lectures
September 1, 2005
The use of technology in your lectures can make them more interesting to students, it helps them pay attention, and it helps with their understanding of the material. Technology allows instructors to be more creative with their lectures and present content with greater clarity.
One common way to incorporate technology into lectures is to create PowerPoint presentations. PowerPoint can be used to combine text, graphics, images, and/or media to convey content.
- Text can be used to draw attention to key points in your lecture, helping students focus on what is important.
- Graphics and images provide visual representations of the content, which may make your content more effective. Many students are visual learners, so graphics and images are particularly helpful to them.
- Audio and video files can be linked to your presentation and played during your lecture. These files may help you illustrate certain points in your content and it they also engage students.
