Capture Images on Your Computer with SnagIt
November 7, 2005
You can use TechSmith's SnagIt 7 to capture and edit screenshots that can easily be shared with students in a PowerPoint presentation, in Word documents, or in myWPI. SnagIt can be programmed to capture a screenshot, window, or selected area at a designated time. Record graphs that lab software displays on your screen and scrolling menus that cannot otherwise be captured simply by using the Print Screen button on your keyboard. You can also use SnagIt to capture animations from software such as Pro-E and import a still shot into PowerPoint, Word, or PDF documents. The software comes with an image editor, allowing you to crop and resize images, make annotations, and add stamps or shapes to your screenshots or images stored on your PC.
For more information on obtaining and using SnagIt, visit the SnagIt pages in the Teaching with Technology Collaboratory.
