Equipment Inventory

The Academic Technology Center (ATC) has a large inventory of equipment available for use by the WPI community (current faculty, staff and students). Equipment is available on a first-come, first serve basis..

Because of limited resources, the ATC strongly urges students, faculty, and staff to reserve equipment in advance to assure availability. Reservation requests can be submitted via e-mail to atc@wpi.edu. Submission of a request via email does not guarantee resources. A member of the ATC staff will respond to your request. To ensure inventory is readily available, the ATC limits use of its equipment to a maximum of two business days. Extended use for more than two business days is addressed on a case-by-case basis depending on equipment availability and purpose.

The inventory at the ATC is designated for academic and educational purposes only. The primary intent of the equipment inventory is for presentation usage. Basic homework, personal computing needs and recreational/entertainment purposes are not considered valid uses of the equipment inventory. Each request will be reviewed by the ATC and a decision will be made based upon merit and availability. Under certain circumstances, verification of course or project registration may be required to validate a request.

The table below lists some of the more popular equipment.

Laptop computers	Dell Latitude E6400 and HP EliteBook E6930 Series. Contains academic and multimedia software including Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Premiere Elements, Adobe Photoshop Elements, Camtasia, Matlab, Maple, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, and SnagIt.
LCD projectors	InFocus LP350 and NEC VT770 series.
USB and Firewire hard drives	Portable 80GB, 300GB, or 400GB hard drives with USB and/or Firewire cables.
Digital video cameras	Canon GL2 MiniDV 3CCD, UltraHD FlipCams, Sony DCR-SR300 Hard Drive Camera, Sony HDR-500V Hard Drive Camera, Sony HDR-550V Hard Drive Camera, and Sony MiniDV tape HandyCam.	Limited Inventory! In high demand during the last three weeks of the term. Reserve in advance! You should also confer with ATC staff on the right camera for your project.
Digital still photo/video cameras	Canon PowerShot A5710IS, Nikon CoolPix 4300, Nikon CoolPix 5700, Nikon CoolPix S620 and Casio EX-ZR100 with high speed video .
Tripods	For use with ATC video and digital still cameras.	Limited Inventory! In high demand during the last three weeks of the term. Reserve in advance!
Digital audio recorders	Edirol R-09, Sony ICD-UX71, Sony ICD-MS1, and Sony ICD-MS515.
Hard-wired lavaliere microphones	For use in KH116, HL116, HL218, HL202, SL115, WB229, AK116, AK120, AK219, AK233, and SL105.
Computer microphones	3.5mm headset microphones, 3.5mm table top microphones, Voicetracker microphones, and Skype USB tabletop microphone.
Wireless Presenters	Wireless mouse/remote control for PowerPoint presentations.
Laser pointers
Teleconferencing units	The Events Office also has two units for use in the Campus Center
