Getting Started with Interwise iMeeting

Does Interwise iMeeting sound like a tool you would like to use? Are you wondering how to get started? This document provides you with information on how to get started with using Interwise iMeeting.

See a Demonstration

If you think you would like to use Interwise iMeeting, it is recommended that you contact the ATC at connect@wpi.edu to schedule a demonstration. During the demonstration, a member of the ATC staff will show you how the tool works and discuss your needs and make recommendations for how you can use iMeeting to address those needs.

Becoming a Scheduler/Presenter

WPI's licensing agreement with Interwise allows for 250 named schedulers on campus. This means that only 250 accounts can have scheduling capabilities, although those 250 accounts can be rotated among members of the WPI community. The ATC is handling the tracking and administration of those accounts. Scheduling accounts will be issued primarily to faculty and staff, although generic accounts can be set up for students to use for classes and projects with faculty approval.

Note

Schedulers are also the default presenters in iMeeting events, so if you'd like to be the primary presenter, you also have to be the scheduler.

If you would like to be able to schedule events, contact the ATC at connect@wpi.edu. The training will cover how to schedule events and how to use iMeeting as a presenter. It is recommended that you schedule a brief training session before using Interwise iMeeting. Although Interwise is not complicated, it is also not necessarily intuitive. The web conferencing environment seems awkward to many first-time users. The training sessions will help you be more effective when you use iMeeting.

Note

If you are a faculty or staff member who would like to use Interwise on an occasional basis for campus events unrelated to a specific course, the ATC can provide assistance with Interwise as it does with other technology services for campus events. Contact the ATC at connect@wpi.edu or x5220 to discuss your needs.
