Polling the Participants

Using the Polling Feature

Polling allows you to get quick feedback from participants. You can conduct a poll to determine if your participants are ready to move on to the next topic or to get their reactions to topics you have covered. You can also use it to determine if the participants understand the content you have covered.

Yes/No Polling

To ask a verbal question with a yes or no response, do the following:

  1. Tell the participants that you are going to conduct a poll and you need a response from them.
  2. Verbally ask your poll question. Frame the question in such a way that a Yes or No response would be appropriate.
  3. Participants will indicate their responses by clicking the appropriate status in the Participant Window.

Prepared Polls

You can prepare poll questions ahead of your event through your room admin interface. This is found either through myWPI if for a course or project group event, or through the Wimba Admin website. Visit Loading Content into a Wimba Event for more information on how to administer pre-loaded content (including polls) into your event.
