Meet Erin DeSilva!

A recent conversation we had with a Fire Protection Professor regarding his plans for this academic year prompted a discussion on a familiar topic - the evolution of classroom instruction. Professors are now placed in a facilitator role, far from the “transmitters” of knowledge from decades past. New students, technologies and ever-changing content call for infusion of online learning, technology as a collaboration tool, and multimedia production like never before. So how do we keep up with these changing demands? We search for ways to acquire the tools, skills and knowledge necessary to meet the challenges before us.

I have recently joined the ATC as an Instructional Technology Specialist. I am thrilled to join this highly skilled and experienced team, sharing the many resources, professional development offerings and technology initiatives that are available at WPI to enhance your classroom instruction. I look forward to working with faculty and students to familiarize you with academic and instructional technologies and services that will meet your needs.
