Logging in to Windows Vista

Welcome back! Over the summer Windows Vista was deployed on all campus public computers. The next time you login to a classroom or public lab computer you will probably be working on a Vista Machine. For those of us on the Admin domain, one question will present itself immediately:

How do I log in?

All campus public computers are now on the Student Domain. This mean that the login and logout procedures have changed for Faculty and Staff. Here are some quick tips to make logging in and out quick and painless!

Logging In

  1. Press Control + Alt + Delete.
  2. The AUP (Acceptable Use Policy) agreement box appears.  Click yes/ok.
  3. In the User Name box enter your WPI email address; ex., johnsmith@wpi.edu.
  4. In the Password box enter your WPI Windows password.
  5. Enter.

Logging Out

  1. Click on the Windows button in the lower left hand corner.
  2. The square program/activity interface pops open.
  3. On the bottom right hand corner of the interface, click the arrow next to the power symbol.
  4. A menu will fly out. Click log-off.
