What's New...
- Windows 8 Support and Upgrades
We would like to remind all WPI community members that WPI Information Technology is testing Windows 8 compatibility and we recommend that Faculty, Staff and Students hold back on upgrading existing systems or purchasing new Windows 8 systems until we have a better idea of what will and won’t work. For more information, please refer to our IT news notice here. For Windows 8 support from Microsoft click here. - Support for Mac OS X Lion (10.7) and Mountain Lion (10.8)
WPI IT provides limited support for Mac OS X version 10.7 and 10.8 (Lion and Mountain Lion). Network connectivity, MS Office and other core functionality are supported. A known issue involves access to WPI network file storage on Filer. A workaround for this issue can be found on this page. Please contact the Help Desk with any questions. - Working from off campus?
Take a look at our new working from home guide. - Interested in a Mobile Device?
Check out our new mobile support site. - Beware of E-mail Phishing Schemes
Many WPI community members have reported receiving "Phishing" style spam. Phishing is a high-tech scam that often uses e-mail to deceive people into disclosing sensitive personal information that can then be used to enable identity theft.
Please remember that no one in WPI IT will ever ask you for your password and you should never provide it. Any such requests are fraudulent.
For additional details about phishing threats and to increase your own awareness, see: http://www.wpi.edu/+infosec/phishing.html
