How to Configure Entourage 2004 SP2 to Access the Exchange Server

Entourage 2004 SP2 Setup

Microsoft Entourage 2004 is the Macintosh equivalent of Microsoft Outlook.

  1. Open Microsoft Entourage.
  2. Close the Setup Assistant window if it appears.
  3. In the upper left menu, click on Entourage and select Account Settings....
  4. Click on the black arrow to the right of New and select Exchange....

  5. Click the Configure account manually button on the lower left of the Account Setup Assistant window.
  6. There are 5 tabs in the Edit Account window.
    1. In the Account Settings tab:
      • Account name: exchange.wpi.edu
      • Name: Full Name
      • E-mail address: username@wpi.edu
      • Account ID: WPI Username
      • Domain: ADMIN or STUDENT
      • Password: ADMIN or STUDENT Domain Password
      • Exchange Server: exchange.wpi.edu
      • Security: check This DAV service requires secure connection (SSL)

    2. In the Advanced tab:
      • Public folders server: exchange.wpi.edu
      • Check This DAV service requires secure connection (SSL)
      • LDAP server: admin.wpi.edu
      • Check This server requires me to log on
      • Maximum number of results to return: 5000
      • Search base: dc=admin;dc=wpi;dc=edu

  7. Click OK to close the Edit Account window.
  8. Click OK to close the Entourage is now synchronizing in the background with your Exchange account: exchange.wpi.edu... window.

  9. Close the Accounts window and you should be able to access your Exchange mailbox in Entourage.

How to Upgrade Office 2004 to Service Pack 2 (SP2) - On-Campus

  1. In the Finder and click on Connect to Server... on the Go menu.
  2. Server address: smb://shares.wpi.edu/installpoint/
  3. Click the Connect button.
  4. Authenticate with your Windows (ADMIN or STUDENT domain) username and password.
  5. Navigate to the /Macintosh/Microsoft/Office 2004 folder and open Office 2004 - Service Pack 2.dmg
  6. A disk image will mount on the desktop and it will automatically show its contents.
  7. Double click Office 2004 11.2.0 Update and follow the dialog boxes.
