Configuring Outlook 2007 for IMAP to the UNIX Mail Server

Step 1

Click the Mail icon from Start > Control Panel > Mail.

You should now be presented with the following screen, where you should click on the E-Mail Accounts... button.

Click the New button under the E-mail tab.

Check the Manually configure server settings... checkbox and click Next.
At this point, the text in the Your Name and E-mail Address fields do not matter.

Choose the Internet E-mail option and click Next.

Step 5

Configure your settings by entering your Username, UNIX password, imap.wpi.edu as the Incoming Mail Server, and smtp.wpi.edu as the Outgoing Mail Server.

Step 6

You should now be able to open Outlook and check your WPI e-mail. If you experience any difficulties, please contact the Helpdesk.
