Windows 7 Deployment at WPI
Windows 7 is the latest version of Microsoft's Operating System. The IT Division currently supports Windows 7 for use at WPI for personal computers and for new WPI deployed computers.

Q: Can I use Windows 7 on the WPI Campus?
A: Yes. Please see below for how we will support it moving forward.
Q: What support is available for systems with Windows 7?
A: Below is a summary of the supported and unsupported areas for Windows 7 at this time. As we complete testing and confirm areas of support for Windows 7 we will update these pages.
- Wired Internet: Windows 7 systems may be registered for wired ethernet connections on our network via NetReg.
- Wireless Internet: Windows 7 systems may be configured using the WPI Wireless Certificate Tool from NetOps.
- Business Applications: Microsoft Office, Banner Web Access, myWPI, SharePoint and print drivers are all supported on Windows 7
- Academic Applications: A list of software and what is supported can be found here.
Q: What editions of Windows 7 are supported?
A: Windows 7 32 bit and 64 bit editions are supported at WPI. The 64 bit editions of Windows 7 may not be able to run some academic software applications. If you have specific application or hardware support concerns please contact the Helpdesk and we will do our best to work with you to find a solution for you.
