UNIX Operating Environment

UNIX is a command-line based operating system that runs on a variety of different platforms and comes in a number of different "flavors," from the popular freeware Linux to ULTRIX, which runs on a number of different WPI Alpha's. Many UNIX computers also run X-Windows, a graphical network operating system.
