Meet the Instructors

Adriana Hera

Academic Computing Applications Scientist

Adriana Hera is an academic computing applications scientist in the Computing & Communication Center (CCC) at WPI. She is in charge of developing training sessions on scientific/engineering software applications to support the core academic undergraduate and graduate curriculum, and research activity. She currently conducts training sessions on Matlab, Mathcad, Ansys, Fluent, Labview, and CES. Her research interests include system identification, structural health monitoring, structural vibrations, stochastic dynamic systems, and wavelets. She holds a Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, WPI, 2006.

Anne is an Office Operations Computer Support Specialist and has been a member of the WPI community for over a decade. She works in conjunction with the helpdesk to resolve computer-related problems. She provides computer support for academic and administrative departments, as well as student support. Anne mentors end users by providing instruction, documentation, training and one-on-one support. She also conducts New Employee Technology Orientation as well workshops for faculty and staff. Anne received her BFA from the University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth.



Debra L. Dexter

Debra trains staff, faculty, and students how to use Microsoft applications including Windows operating systems, the MS Office suite, as well as design and media software. In addition, she designs and instructs classes on WPI's administrative computing systems and conducts new employee and student orientation to WPI's computer systems. She also works in conjunction with the Helpdesk to resolve computer-related problems. Debra has presented at other colleges and universities as well as national conferences on topics such as strategies for tailoring training to increase productivity, how to enhance performance in the use of technology, and ways to maximize efficiency.

Debra holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a Masters in Professional Communication from Clark University.




Kerrie O'Connor

Kerrie O'Connor, an IT Communications and Outreach Specialist, has been a member of the WPI Helpdesk for over ten years. In addition to resolving computer-related issues received by the Helpdesk, she specializes in orienting new faculty and staff, designs and conducts workshops for faculty, staff and Helpdesk students, and authors instructional content for helpdesk solutions, web pages, and campus news. Kerrie has presented at regional and national conferences, and also has experience teaching middle school, high school and GED classes. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, MA.
