WPI's Virtual Private Network (VPN)

Software Requirements

If your distribution does not include a compatible version of Java, you may download one directly from Sun at http://java.com/

Please note that at this time, only 32 bit distributions are fully supported.

Browse to https://vpn.wpi.edu in the web browser of your choice. You will be presented with an AUP banner. You must accept the AUP by clicking on Proceed before continuing.
Sign in with your WPI email address.
After logging in, you will be taken to the home screen. Click on the Start button next to Network Connect to begin installing the client.
If you have Java properly installed and configured in your browser, the Network Connect client will begin launching.
You may be presented with a Java security warning. If so, click Run to allow the client to launch.
You will be prompted to confirm software installation. You may select either Always, or Yes. If you select Yes, you will see a seperate prompt for each individual software component. If you select Always, the entire installation process will complete automatically. Selecting No will cancel the installation process.
The first time that you run the client, you will be prompted for the password to the local root account. Please note that this may be different from your password on the local machine. Enter the root password and press Enter.
The client will now launch. When you are done, you may click on the SIgnOut button to end your session and exit the client.
