Description of the Business Process

Contract R&D services are usually handled according to the following protocol:

  1. Initial contact with the Laboratory Director to discuss project needs (preliminary data and medium requirements can be discussed at this time, along with the signing of a CDA), if necessary.
  2. A price quote is mailed, FAXed or E-mailed to the client depending upon project expediency. At this time, discussions with the IBC will commence, if necessary.
  3. If the price quote is accepted, the client provides a P.O. # (followed by a copy of the P.O.). The project can commence upon receipt of cell stocks (cryopreserved, etc.) and any necessary medium components.

The WPI Bioprocess Technology Laboratory prides itself on providing a high quality service with minimal red-tape.

Contract R&D agreements are arranged directly through the Laboratory Director.
Most short-term contracts can be arranged to satisfy the time demands of industry.
