Fermenters
- New Brunswick Scientific (NBS) Bioflo 3000 (2) with built in gas mixers.
- NBS Bioflo III (2)
- NBS automated gas mixers (2) for computer controlled supplementation with oxygen, nitrogen (or other gasses) at flow rates up to 35 liters/min
- The above fermenters have working volumes of 1.25,2.5,5, and 10L.
- NBS IF-75 (55 L working volume) computer controlled fermenter with ML4100 microprocessor
- All fermentation systems are equipped with real-time data acquisition capabilities and user defined control strategies (through the use of NBS control software)
Cell Harvesting
- Millipore Pellicon, and Pellicon-Mini tangential flow filtration apparatus (3) with peristaltic, rotary vane, or piston pumps for microfiltration, ultrafiltration or buffer exchange.
- Millipore Prostak tangential flow filtration system with rotary lobe pump for harvesting of high cell density or viscous broths
- Beckman J2-21 centrifuge - batch or continuous flow processing
- Available process cooling via sanitary SS heat exchangers
Cell Disruption
- Microfluidics 110Y microfluidizer - capable of disrupting a cell slurry in a continuous stream at a flow rate of approximately 450 ml/min and an operating pressure of 15,000 PSI.
- Branson W185 Sonicator
Purification/analysis
- Waters HPLC system with UV and RI detection
- AKTA Prime chromatography system with UV, pH, conductivity, and temperature real time data acquisition
- Chromatography columns up to 20 cm diameter with fraction collection and UV detection
- Amersham Pharmacia 3x100cm Streamline Column
- Waters Quanta 4000 Capillary Electrophoresis Chromotography (CEC)
- Available process cooling via sanitary SS heat exchangers (glycol chiller)
