Professor Anthony G. Dixon Elected as AIChE Fellow

News

Colleagues:

It is my pleasure to announce that Professor Anthony G. Dixon has been elected as a Fellow of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.  This highest grade of AIChE membership is “in recognition of professional attainment and significant accomplishment in engineering. Professional attainment shall be based on contribution to the professional advancement of chemical engineers and the engineering profession and valuable service to the AIChE.  The grade of Fellow in AIChE is a special category of membership that identifies and honors that group of Senior Member chemical engineers who have made meaningful impacts on our profession.”

Anthony was elected for his pioneering work in chemical reaction engineering in the areas of heat transfer in fixed beds, chemical reaction with diffusion, and the use of computational fluid dynamics in fixed bed reactor analysis. He was also elected as a founding member of the Catalysis and Reaction Engineering Division, as a Director of the CRE Division, and for his distinguished service in the division of Computing and Systems Technology,

Each year only about 25 Fellows are elected, and current Fellows represent just over only 1% of the total 40,000 members in AIChE. So, this is indeed an honor.  Professor Dixon was honored with recognition at the annual AIChE conference in November.

Congratulations!
