Research & Facilities
The department is highly active in research, with 30 full-time graduate students, two-thirds of whom are pursuing their Ph.D., and a large number of full-time research faculty and staff.
Research groups are intimate with close interaction between students and faculty and mutual collaboration. Students find an environment that is exceptionally conducive to research and scholarship. Most Ph.D. students extensively publish papers in rigorously reviewed journals and have the opportunity to present their results in national and international meetings. Research activities range from hydrogen technology, to biochemical engineering, to nanotechnology. The department has particular strength in the following areas:
Biological Engineering
Catalysis and Reaction Engineering
Process Analysis and Control
Nano Materials
Sustainable and Green Engineering
