Faculty & Staff
The WPI Fire Protection Engineering faculty are committed to academic excellence and dedicated to scholarship and teaching. Faculty members approach the study of fire protection engineering from both theoretical and applications-oriented perspectives. Emphasis is placed on the use of basic engineering principles and current research results in fire protection engineering design. This approach is balanced with practice in the application of commonly used codes and standards.
All students are assigned academic advisors. The advisors help students develop academic plans tailored to their educational and professional goals. The advisory program enables students to benefit, on a one-to-one basis, from the expertise of the fire protection faculty.
In addition to teaching, faculty members are involved in various research and consulting activities.
