Research
Professor Bianchi is a composer and music technologist. He has won numerous prizes and awards for his compositions including the ASCAP Young Composers Award, the Bourges International Computer Music competition in France, the Kennedy Center's 1990 Friedheim Award competition in orchestral composition, the National Orchestral Association's 1989 Orchestral Fellow Award in New York City, the United States Institute for Theatre Technology Award for Innovation and more.
A co-founder of Realtime Music in New York City, Bianchi's work in Virtual Orchestra design and live performance technology has culminated in over 50,000 performances worldwide. Creative and research collaborations include Lucent Technologies, Cirque Du Soleil, Broadway, Off-Broadway, London’s West End, numerous tours in America and Europe, and orchestral premiers at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.
