Venice Track

Planning an Interactive Project in Venice?  Then you might want to consider an International Studies minor with an "Venice Track."

An Interactive Project at Venice (or another Global Project Center) counts as one unit of the three units required by the minor. One unit of international courses from your humanities and arts or social science requirements may count towards the international electives of the minor. All that remains is one unit (three courses) in the International Studies "core." The core requires one history course, one cross-cultural course, and HU 4411, Senior Seminar in International Studies. ID2050 for Venice may count as a cross-cultural course or an elective in the Venice Track. One unit of the minor may not double-count with other degree requirements.

Here are several examples of an Venice track. These are merely examples and the courses you choose could be different.

The goals of WPI's International Studies minor are to extend students' global horizons, enhance their disciplinary majors, and expand their career opportunities in the international arena. The International Studies requirements integrate student’s courses, projects, and overseas experiences. Since the background and goals of each student are different, these requirements are flexible. In essence, the Venice Track is a sample program that demonstrates how students with experience at the Venice Project Center may shape the minor to meet their goals.

How to Declare

For further information, consult the requirements in the on-line catalog, complete the International Studies Minor Planning and Approval Form (PDF), and contact an advisor in International Studies.
