Project Managment
This section contains resources that provide ideas for helping students plan and manage their projects. It also contains resources related to grading and structuring the PQP (i.e., syllabus, how to run meetings).
Students must register for their projects using the IQP Registration form (PDF).
Grading Criteria (Word Document) are important for students to understand in order to manage their expectations. If students are provided a clear articulation of the grading policy of the advisors, there will be fewer challenges after they receive their term and IQP grades. The criteria provided in the link are one example.
At the beginning of the Off-Campus IQP students also register for the PQP, where they meet with and obtain advice from their advisors. The PQP typically occurs simultaneously with students' enrollment in ID2050. To help the students navigate the expectations and requirements for the PQP a PQP Syllabus (Word Document) can be helpful.
For the beginning of the On-Campus IQP here is an example of an On-Campus IQP syllabus
Students can also be asked to maintain a Project Proposal Team Logbook for PQP (Word Document) that holds meeting agendas, meeting minutes, drafts of chapters, and other important PQP/IQP related documents in a single repository.
An example document describing project meetings, PQP logbooks, and email etiquette is available in PQP Project Documentation Guidance (Word Document).
Part of the skill set that students should acquire during the process of doing an IQP is the ability to run a meeting successfully. This includes setting agendas for the PQP and other meetings [Sample Agenda (Word Document) and Guidelines for Agenda (Word Document)], running Project meetings (Word Document), and drafting meeting minutes.
