INTERACTIVE WEB-BASED GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEM

Starting up

By clicking on the picture below, you will get this intitial screen.  The system was developed as a thesis project at the University of Architecture in Venice, by Andrea Mancuso, using mostly VPC data.  This explains why everything you will see is in Italian.  The server from which the GIS screens come is also in Italy, so be prepared to be amazed at the speed of the system (assuming you have a decent internet connection).  This system definitely works on Internet Explorer under Windows.  It may or may not work under other browsers (like Netscape) or on other computer systems (like a Mac).

First time users

You need to install a small program (called an Active-X) to make the system work on your browser.

Clik HERE to start the Active-X installation.  When given the option to save or run (or open) the file, choose run (or open) so the installation is quicker and more automatic.  The Active-X can also be installed from the initial screen (left).
