The Collaborative for Entrepreneurship & Innovation (CEI) is a university-wide center serving those interested in technology entrepreneurship and innovation. Services and programs are provided to WPI students, faculty members and alumni, with some programs open to the public. The CEI belongs to a regional business resource alliance, so our staff is able to refer public inquiry to the many alliance organizations that provide public services.

The CEI fosters an entrepreneurial and innovative mindset as well as encourages students to develop sustainable new technologies, licensing opportunities, businesses and social ventures. WPI students inherently acquire an entrepreneurial, innovative mindset immersed in WPI's academic and cultural diversity. The CEI fosters this mindset even further through its extra-curricular programs, competitions, resources, mentoring, advising, innovation internships, and networking opportunities.

An undergraduate  entrepreneurship minor and several undergraduate and graduate entrepreneurship and innovation courses are offered through the Department of Management. A course for engineering students, Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship, is also offered.

Our programs were recognized in 2005 by Entrepreneur Magazine's TechknowledgePoint survey of entrepreneurial schools by ranking us in the Top Ten highest among the nation's schools with an Entrepreneurship Emphasis.

We welcome you to discuss, in strict confidence, ideas for new technology-based businesses, products, services, or processes and social venture ideas. We may provide services based upon your unique needs or suggest mentors, programs, or resources to help you move forward. Use our Inquiry Form or call 508-831-5761 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday to schedule an appointment, or simply drop by 216A Washburn Shops to see if we are available.
