10th Seminar “Computer Modeling & Microwave Power Engineering”
University of Modena and Reggio Emilia
Modena, Italy
28-29 February, 2008
General Information – Topics, Agenda, Papers
Second Call for Paper
General Profile
This seminar will be focused on the issues in computational electromagnetics at high frequencies and should attract engineers, researchers and students working in the related disciplines. Topics loosely associated with microwave power engineering and positioned at different stages of their development (from conceptual formulations to the algorithms and their practical implementations) are welcome.
Types of presentation may vary from notes on particular accomplishments to general reviews.
The meeting should reveal some major modern trends in development and usage of numerical techniques and computer technologies suitable for modeling of a variety of scenarios in microwave power engineering.
Seminar Topics
- Microwave systems and components
- Apparatuses for microwave thermal processes
- Solution of EM-thermal coupled problems
- Reconstruction of material parameters
- Numerical microwave optimization
Modeling Workshop
The Seminar will be preceded by the half-day Modeling Workshop featuring presentations of the software packages known for their use in modeling of systems and processes of microwave power engineering:
- COMSOL Multiphysics,
- Microwave Studio,
- QuickWave-3D.
Live demonstrations of operational functionalities of the simulators will be given by the representatives of the software companies developed these tools and brought them on the market: COMSOL, CST and QWED respectively.
Who Should Attend
- Analysts/modelers dealing with state-of-the-art techniques of numerical solutions of electromagnetic boundary problems.
- Developers of algorithms & modeling software (actually or potentially) applicable to problems of microwave power engineering.
- Graduate students and engineers involved in CAD of microwave structures and the related R&D activities.
- Industrialists and engineers wishing to expand their knowledge about modern modeling opportunities.
Submit a Paper
The summaries of the seminar contributions will be printed in the Seminar Brochure. The authors should submit their summaries including (a) the title, (b) author name(s) and affiliations, address, e-mail, and (c) an abstract (less than 100 words). The summary (not exceeding 4 Letter (A4) pages) should use Times New Roman 12-point font, be single-spaced and fit into top and bottom margins of 1” (2.5 cm) and left and right margins of 1.25” (3.0 cm).
First, titles and abstracts of the contributions should be submitted though the Registration Form. When the authors are notified on acceptance, they will be asked to e-mail the summary to the Seminar Chair.
