Research
Professor O'Connor's principal research interests are in the area of medical economics. His publications focus on governmental planning and regulation in the health care sector, and on the implications of change in the health care industry for internal decision making. His current research interests include cost-benefit analysis applied to new medical technologies and the measurement of the outcomes of medical/surgical interventions. Professor O'Connor has been involved in numerous medically-related consulting activities and was formerly employed in the pharmaceutical industry.
