LOCATION
The Wall Street Project Center presents opportunities for MQP projects and possible future employment with some of the best firms in the world, such as Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, Deutsche Bank, and J P Morgan. Each of the project sponsors has needs for young, bright persons, with interests in technology and investments.
As a result of my MQP on Wall Street, I was offered a job at Bank of America where I am now working. It was my MQP on Wall Street that allowed me achieve my goals.
Jason Tondreau, WPI, Class of 2006.
PROJECTS
- At Lehman Brothers, a CS student helped to automate a system to display risks associated with lending and to display specific risks associated with different credit situations. An MGE/IE student investigated what the users needed from the program and built a prototype.
- At Morgan Stanley, the largest firm that services hedge fund transactions, New York and London teams investigated the best practices used between the hedge fund managers and the client representatives within the firm in order to find better ways to implement customer relationship management.
- At J P Morgan, a CS student and a Management student focused on data contamination. The CS student focused on the software side of the contamination issue. The Management student focused on the source of the contamination (data entry, software, network, or hardware) and ways to alleviate this in the future. The J P Morgan project for 2007 focuses on grid technology and involves 2 students from ECE.
