May 2nd, 2007: New Electronic Resource: Search Van Nostrand's Scientific Encyclopedia for articles on a variety of scientific topics including chemistry, chemical engineering, civil engineering, computer science, mathematics, mechanical engineering, and physics.
May 1st, 2007: New Subscription: Search Blackwell Synergy for access to more than 770 full text journals on many topics areas including science, technology, medicine, social sciences, and humanities. Titles range from Acta Crystallographica to Fatigue & Fracture of Engineering Materials and Structures to Development and Change and coverage for some titles extends back 100+years.

November 21, 2006: Library Printing Update: You can print from any computer in the library to the print release station near the Reference Desk or to the Movie Lab for color printouts. Anyone who's already setup their laptop to print will have to update their printer settings as the server name has changed. More...

November 13, 2006: The Journals List, FullTextFinder, and the EBSCOhost Electronic Journals Service will be unavailable on Sunday, November 19, 2006, from 7 A.M. to 2 P.M. EST. EBSCO Information Services is shutting down its computer facilties at that time for system maintenance.

November 1, 2006: Get a Boston Public Library eCard to access an incredible array of electronic resources covering 25 different subject areas from architecture to genealogy to history and science. Also access OverDrive downloadable audio and video. All Massachusetts residents, students and people employed in the Commonwealth are eligible. eCards will expire in 6 months when the BPL will evaluate the program.

October 24, 2006: Today's Consumers Trust Traditional Media Sources the Most according to a study by LexisNexis, when people need news on a "major event ... their trust mostly remains with traditional media, such as professional journalists at mainstream newspapers, magazines, television and radio, versus emerging media sources created by citizen journalists."
