Scope of Collections


University Archives


The holdings include the papers of past WPI presidents and the records of the trustees, records of various academic and administrative departments, records of student and alumni organizations. The holdings also include yearbooks, school magazines and newspapers, photographs, and WPI memorabilia. The materials date from 1865 to the present and measure approximately 1,000 linear feet. Refer to Physical Collections for a complete listing.

Special Collections


The holdings include the rare book library, manuscript collection, and other special collections, such as the Robert Fellman-Charles Dickens Collection. The rare book library consists roughly of 4000 volumes of rare and unique editions, covering topics from American and British literature, science and technology, and the history of Worcester and New England. The manuscript holdings includes the papers of Harold S. Black, Jacob J. Hagopian, Howard W. Emmons, and the diaries of Theo Brown and Charles Morgan. The records of Woodbury & Company and the Worcester Engineering Society are also included. Refer to Physical Collections for a complete listing.
