Journal or Database suggestion?

Submit using the Suggest a Journal or Database Purchase form.

Academic Department Book Requests

Please note: The Library Catalog, Request suggestion option does not replace Book Order Request.

Authorized individuals should continue to use Book Order Request to send orders for books to be purchased from academic department library book budgets. Faculty members should contact their departmental library liaison to request library book purchases from the department book budget.

WPI faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to suggest books and other materials that they think the library should purchase and add to the collection. Although submitting a purchase suggestion does not guarantee that the item will be added to the collection, the library tries to accommodate these requests whenever it is possible.

You can either suggest a purchase now, or read on for further information.

How to use this:

Request Library Materials Using the Library Catalog Request Form

Open the login page. (Please Note: The login page will open in a second browser window, while this information page also remains open.)
Click on the button labeled "WPI FACULTY, STUDENTS, AND STAFF ONLY!" Then enter your WPI username and either your Windows or UNIX password and click Log In on the "Pubcookie" page.
Select Suggest a Purchase from the menu and click OK.
Provide as much information as you can about the item you are suggesting, such as author, title, publisher, etc.
Please include your email address in the Comment area.
Also, briefly tell us in the Comment area why you think the item should be purchased. For example, how would it be of use to you or to other members of the WPI community?
Select the Submit button and your request will be sent to the library.
Click Exit in the toolbar at the top or bottom of the page when you are finished.
For added security, completely exit your Web browser also, especially when using a computer in a public location like the library or a computer lab.

Other things to know:

Please make sure you've checked the Library Catalog before making your request. We might already have the book.
The book suggestion form can be accessed while you are connected to the Library Catalog also.

Connect to the Catalog.
Select the Request icon from the top of the catalog page.
