Only Finding a Citation? Getting the Full Text

Often, when searching library databases you will find only an abstract or citation and no full text. Don't give up if it looks like a useful resource.

FullTextFinder - Connects You from One Database to Another for Full Text Access

Within library database searches, look for FullTextFinder FullTextFinder link for retrieval options. Often, this link within a database will lead you to the article in a different library database! Or use the FullTextFinder - Citation Checker to enter citation information (key pieces to enter: journal or ISSN, volume, issue, date, start page) and track down the best source, if available electronically.

Is the Journal Online?

Search our Journals, Magazines, & Newspapers list by the title of the magazine, journal or newspaper. This may lead you to the full text.

Is the Journal in the Library (printed version, that can be photocopied)?

Our Journals, Magazines, & Newspapers list also shows what's in the print collection at WPI. Look for the little house icon to indicate "in house" access. Visit the library to obtain the articles.

Still not locating the article?

Consider visiting another library or using Interlibrary Loan. Request item through Interlibrary Loan and we will borrow it for you (could take a week or two) - log in, fill out & submit form, we'll notify you via email when it arrives.

Planning to visit another library to obtain the item more quickly? Before you go, check WorldCat by the journal title to locate another area library that may subscribe.
