At WPI undergraduates are required to complete two projects: one exploring the intersection of science, technology and society (Interactive Qualifying Project or IQP), and another in the major field (Major Qualifying Project or MQP). Collectively, WPI students complete several hundred projects each year.

As of Fall 2007 all undergraduates are required to submit IQP and MQP projects online in PDF/A format. From 2003 to summer, 2007, students had the option of submitting electronically. Most of these electronic projects are freely available worldwide. In addition, the library retains an archive of print IQP/MQP projects from 1999-2007. Staff are working to digitize the print projects and many are now accessible by WPI network users.

Search the Library Catalog - Project Report Limit

Search the Library Catalog for available projects 1999+ by choosing the drop down LIMIT to: option for WPI Project Reports. Search Tips | Online Tutorial (<5 min.)

For print projects, WPI network users can then click "Make a Request" on the menu on the right side of the page. On the Log In page, click "WPI Faculty, Students, and Staff click here to login." Enter your WPI Network username and password. On the Patron Requests page click "Project Report Request." Enter your email address in the Comment box and click Submit. You will be notified via email within 1 business day when the item is available for in-library use.

Electronic projects can be accessed directly by clicking "Link to E-Project" in the catalog record. If off campus, for some you may have to connect using the Proxy server.

Search Interdisciplinary and Global Studies Division: IQP's Only.

Most from 1998-99 to present, but some early project abstracts (back to 1986 are available). Created by the Interdisciplinary and Global Studies Division, this special IQP database also lists award-winning IQP's, some executive summaries, and background on the IQP and WPI's innovative approach to education.
