Course Reserve Options
- Class Reserves in the Library
- Policies and procedures for placing books, journals, and A/V materials on reserve at the Circulation Desk
- How to Request Library Books for Class Reserve
- Textbooks
- Faculty are encouraged to place personal copies of textbooks on 2-hour reserve at the library. Students who request that the library purchase textbooks will be referred back to the instructor of the course. If the faculty member does not have a personal copy and feels it is important to have the book on reserve, he/she may request that the library purchase it. It will be paid for with the academic department's library allocation. See also textbooks web sites.
- Electronic Course Readings
- Many electronic resources within library databases can be linked to
directly, avoiding the need for paper reserves and creating legitimate
access that does not infringe on copyright. See: Overview (PPT file) | Library
and myWPI: Creating Linked Readings (DOC file) | Creating Links to Electronic Books
