• Protein Data Bank (PDB) Enzyme Structures Database

European Bioinformatices Institute Interpro, European Molecular Biology Laboratory
• CAZy-Carbohydrate-Active enZYmes describes families of structurally-related catalytic and carbohydrate-binding modules (or functional domains) of enzymes that degrade, modify, or create glycosidic bonds.
• International Union of of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Recommendations on biochemical & organic nomenclature, symbols & terminology, etc. Covers amino acids, carbohydrates, enzymes, lipids, peptides, steroids, vitamins, and more.
• Glossary of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology by David M. Glick, contains many literature references within definitions.

• SciFinder Scholar - Chemical Abstracts: Search the full Chemical Abstracts database back to 1907. Use in library, chemistry PC lab, or install on your own computer. Short How To Guides.
• PubMed: Search database of citations and abstracts, in all fields of medicine and biomedicine, including biochemistry. Coverage is from mid-1960's to the present. Note wpilib at end of URL, this connects you with FullTextFinder (WPI's resources).

  • Search MESH - Medical Subject Headings to assure you are using the language of the field. For instance, dTMP kinase is used, not thymidylate kinase in this database
  • When viewing citations, choose Format MEDLINE to view MESH Headings
  • Use Journal Browser to figure out abbreviated medical titles.
• Web of Science (Science Citation Index): Search for papers that cite earlier papers.
• American Chemical Society (ACS) Journals: Citations for all ACS primary journals; full-text of more than 25.
• JSTOR: a collection of general science, and other full text journals, but not the current few years.
• PubMed Central: online life sciences journal literature, managed by the National Center for Biotechnology Information.
• Science Direct: electronic journal articles in the physical, life, social, and behavioral sciences, published by Elsevier. Coverage 1995+.
