Searching an Article Database

Let's try a search in Engineering Village. There are always multiple ways to search most article databases - a Basic and Advanced or Expert options.

Be sure that you brainstorm specific search terms for your topic first. As you can see, we chose to search for the terms solar cells OR photovoltaic arrays or solar panels and space.

You can search for these terms in various fields, such as Subject or Keyword, which are part of the record for each citation. We opted to search "All fields." You can combine terms using the drop-down Boolean operators AND, OR or NOT.

Limit your search if you find you're getting too many results. Ei2 lets you limit by Document Type (like journal article or conference paper), Treatment Type (like literature review or application), Language or Date Range.
