Search Limits: Advanced Options

Many search engines offer Advanced Search options or limits which let you use drop-down menus to restrict your search results by language, document format, or date

Limits Available	Why bother? Examples:
Date	Search for current sports statistics published on the web.
Document Type / File Type	Choose .xls to find data sets on salaries of baseball players.
Domain	Use .gov to limit search to official government material. Limit to just epa.gov drinking water disinfection methods (could use EPA's site search as well).
Language	Select Spanish to find sites on Pablo Neruda in his native language.
Linked to	Who's linked to your web site? Who's linking to your favorite web site?
Region	Can be helpful if you are working on a project that has geographic limits.
