Article Databases
Article databases (also called journal or periodical indexes) include the citations of articles in magazines, journals and newspapers. On the library homepage, QuickFIND allows users to search many databases at once, some of our main article databases, Google Scholar, and our library catalog too.
Some databases contain only abstracts or brief summaries of the articles. A few contain the full text or entire content of article exactly as they originally appeared in the periodical.
The library purchases access for WPI to more than 150 online article databases. We also own older print indexes, good for researching for materials and information prior to the computerization of information. Some databases now have converted old content (even from the 19th century) and you can search this online as well. For example, New York Times Historical is fully searchable back to 1851.
