The WPI Web Development Office is committed to providing high-quality Web writing and graphic design services to the WPI community. Specifically, we supervise the construction and maintenance of pages on the main WPI Web server and assist people and groups with their Web sites in whatever capacity possible.

We are constantly developing and improving the WPI Web site, both in terms of content and appearance. We often experiment with new technologies to make the site better, and do our best to keep up with the latest in Web development, even if we don't implement it right away. One of our primary goals is to ensure that the WPI Web site is available to all users, regardless of their level of technology.

Does your department or organization's Web site need work?

WPI departments, programs, research groups, committeees, student organizations, athletic teams, and alumni groups can take advantage of our services free of charge! We already maintain 90% of department Web sites. Here are just some of the specific services we provide:

Do you need a new site?: We'll do the work for you - for free! We even set up sites for events and conferences, including online credit card registration!
Is your site hard to use?: We'll help you organize your site and build a navigation system that is intuitive. Plus, we can add a search engine to your site to make it user-friendlier.
Is your site plain?: We'll spruce it up with graphics that tell the world that, while you're still a part of WPI, you've got your own unique style.
Having trouble deciding what to say on your site?: We'll help you figure out what information you need to convey on your site and how to do it.
Want to create a new section of your site?: We'll help you put it all together and link it not only with your current site, but with other applicable sites.
Want to make your site more useful?: We'll help you increase the usefulness of your site, as well as heighten the experience for your site's visitors.
Want to use the Web to improve efficiency?: We'll help you leverage Web technologies to improve internal processes, such as online MQP day registration, a form for making purchasing requests, or a database to keep track of conference registrations.
Need changes and updates made your site?: We'll help you keep your site up to date. You can send changes to us via e-mail or campus mail, and we'll make minor edits within a day or two. For details, check out our Web Update Guidelines...
Want to create an online survey?: We'll create one that can either email results to you individually or save the results to a file that you can import into a database or spreadsheet like Microsoft Access, Excel, or MySQL.
Need to have secure online registration for an event or conference?: We'll work with you to set up a form to collect all the information you need, and connect it to the university's payment server. The results can then be saved to a file, which you can import database or spreadsheet like Microsoft Access, Excel, or MySQL. For details, see our Online Registration Guidelines...
