From Data to Knowledge:
Exploring Industrial, Scientific, and Commercial Databases

The goal of this workshop is to bring decision-makers, scientists and engineers who routinely perform data analysis tasks together with researchers who develop exploratory data analysis technology to help establish and expand communications among the groups and perhaps identify some key directions for advancing data analysis technology. Participants from both the commercial and industrial sectors, as well as academia, will be educated in the major concepts and current state of the art in Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) and Knowledge Discovery in Databases (KDD). Demonstrations and posters of on-going activities will be included, as well as sessions for open discussions for identifying critical needs of those who routinely generate and analyze large, complex data sets.
