Member BenefitsCREDIA's structure offers ample opportunities for communication and collaboration between the associated faculty and students at WPI, and the industrial members. Mechanisms to foster this communication include: WorkshopsAn annual workshop is held each Spring to present the results of the current year's projects and to discuss research issues relevant to the industrial members. Technical EducationSeminars and short courses on topics pertaining the Center's research are offered at WPI and are available for offering at the industrial site. Two to four seminars and short courses are scheduled each year. Topics include but are not limited to data mining, data visualization, data integration, machine learning, and statistical data analysis. These courses follow WPI's "Two Tower Tradition" of excellence in combining theory and practice. Participants receive instruction on cutting-edge research as well as hands-on experience with state-of-the-art tools. Participants are welcome to bring their own datasets for analysis. Industrial Internship ProgramCREDIA provides a two-way internship program. Employees of industrial members come to WPI to pursue graduate studies (M.S. and Ph.D.) in areas related to the Center's research. Also, WPI students work as interns at industrial sites on projects related to the Center. Invited Talks And PresentationsThis is also a two-way communication channel. Center's faculty are available to give one or two invited talks per year at company sites. Also, CREDIA's monthly Colloquium Series at WPI includes invited speakers from industrial members as well as WPI faculty. Maintained by webmaster@wpi.eduLast modified: Jan 30, 2003, 11:35 EST
