Junior Robotics Challenge (Entering grades 6-8)
The Junior Robotics Challenge is designed to inspire and excite its participants as they explore science and engineering in a fun and inventive atmosphere. This week-long day program teaches 6th-8th graders the basics of designing, building, and programming autonomous robots using the
LEGO® MINDSTORMS™ platform. The student-designed robots then face-off in a friendly competition on the final day to demonstrate what was learned during the week. 2 sessions

MATHCOUNTS® at WPIThis summer day program offered from 9:00am-12:30pm focuses on introducing talented middle school students in mathematics to successful MATHCOUNTS® problem-solving techniques. MATHCOUNTS® is a national math enrichment, coaching, and competition program that promotes middle school mathematics in every state and U.S. territory.
August 10-14 | Audience: Students entering grades 6-8.
Program Fee: $150
The application deadline for this program is July 15, 2009. If you are selected for participation in this program, you will be notified by July 15, 2009.

Camp Reach (entering 7th grade only)
Camp Reach is an award-winning summer residential program for girls in Massachusetts who are entering 7th grade and who are interested in learning more about careers in engineering and technology. The two-week program includes hands-on workshops, a design project for a community organization, field trips, recreational activities, and follow-up programs during the academic year.

Tech Days (entering grades 6-8)
Tech Days is a fun introduction into science and engineering field for both boys and girls who are going into grades 6, 7, or 8 who are interested in finding out more about engineering and related fields. The program will meet for a week in July. You’ll be exposed to various engineering and science fields and what they involve, and you’ll have a chance to meet with some current WPI students. You’ll participate in various fun hands-on activities to explore several different types of science and engineering.

CSS: Crime Scene Science (entering 6-8)
This week long program will introduce middle school students to the world of Forensic Science. Participants will explore the science behind crime scene investigations by working through a series of "cases" using current forensic biological techniques. Collect evidence, run soil sample analysis, compare fingerprint evidence and much more.

Sports Camps
Join us for our 33rd year of Summer Sports Camps!
This summer WPI will offer sports camps for boys and girls ages 7-17 depending on the camp. Programs will be offered in July & August and will feature baseball, basketball, rowing, soccer and volleyball. Come to WPI to learn new skills, enhance your athletic abilities, meet new friends and have fun!
You will work in small groups getting expert coaching from WPI's Youth Coaches.

Bio-Discovery (grades 7-8)
A week-long hands-on research experience for current 7th and 8th grade students (the summer will be between the 7-8th and 8-9th grades) in the Worcester Public Schools (some exceptions for immediate surrounding areas may be made), interested in cutting edge bio-science topics such as building artificial skin, healing the heart and preventing infections.
Applications are due April 1, 2009
Cost: This is a grant-supported program and is free of charge to selected applicants.

Bernard Harris Summer Science
The ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Camp (BHSSC) is a free, academic program of The Harris Foundation, which takes an active role in shaping education in students entering grade 6,7, or 8 in the fall of 2009. Science, technology, engineering and mathematics are critical to society’s infrastructure for the 21st century and preserving that future requires an investment, such as the BHSSC, in our youth today. This camp program was originally developed as a collaborative effort of the Harris Foundation, the Houston Independent School District, the University of Houston (UH) and the Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU), designed to support historically underserved and underrepresented students with limited opportunities.

Intellect Quest (Mass Academy)
Intellect Quest is Mass Academy’s fun and engaging summer program for 5-8th graders. Activities are based on the best of the Academy's highly acclaimed SPLISH Day. Lots of science, math, robotics, and art. Applications due by April 15, 2009.
