Each participant must submit the 5 forms listed below to the Summer Office @ Summer Office-CPE100 Institute Road Worcester, MA 01609.
In addition, please submit to the summer office a picture of each participant in jpeg format. Photos will be used for ID's while participants are on campus at WPI. Please submit photos to summer@wpi.edu or mail to the Summer Office listed above. If you are unable to provide the photo, please contact the summer office @ summer@wpi.edu or 508-831-5517. See photo specifications at the bottom of page.

GIRLS AND MATHEMATICS
This no cost day program (9am-12:30pm) is designed to provide participants with a variety of mathematical experiences to extend their understanding and knowledge in mathematics. Emphasis will be placed on problem solving. The covered topics include:

CAMP REACH
Two-week residential program for girls in Massachusetts who are entering 7th grade and are interested in learning more about careers in engineering
and technology through workshops, a design project for a community organization, field trips, recreational activities, and follow-up programs during the academic year. Applications due April 15, 2009.

INTELLECT QUEST
A summer program for kids who need an intellectual challenge. Intellectually rich and fun activities based on the best of Mass Academy's highly acclaimed SPLISH Day. Lots of science, math, robotics, and art. Applications due April 15, 2009. *This program is at Mass Academy.

STRIVE
Strive is a residential program for African American, Hispanic and American Indian high school students to explore the areas of engineering and science as well as learn more about potential careers in these areas by engaging in labs facilitated by a dedicated team of WPI faculty and students.

BERNARD HARRIS SUMMER SCIENCE
The ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Camp (BHSSC) is a free, academic program of The Harris Foundation, which takes an active role in shaping education in students entering grade 6,7, or 8 in the fall of 2009. Science, technology, engineering and mathematics are critical to society's infrastructure for the 21st century and preserving that future requires an investment, such as the BHSSC, in our youth today. This camp program was originally developed as a collaborative effort of the Harris Foundation, the Houston Independent School District, the University of Houston (UH) and the Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU), designed to support historically underserved and underrepresented students with limited opportunities.

JUNIOR ROBOTICS CHALLENGE
This week-long day program teaches 6th-8th graders the basics of designing, building, and programming autonomous robots using the LEGO® MINDSTORMS™ platform. The student-designed robots then face-off in a friendly competition on the final day to demonstrate what was learned during the week. 2 sessions

MATHCOUNTS® at WPI
This summer day program offered from 9:00am-12:30pm focuses on introducing talented middle school students in mathematics to successful MATHCOUNTS® problem-solving techniques. MATHCOUNTS® is a national math enrichment, coaching, and competition program that promotes middle school mathematics in every state and U.S. territory.

CRIME SCENE SCIENCE (entering 6-8)
This week long program will introduce middle school students to the world of Forensic Science. Participants will explore the science behind crime scene investigations by working through a series of "cases" using current forensic biological techniques. Collect evidence, run soil sample analysis, compare fingerprint evidence and much more.

BIO-DISCOVERY
A week-long hands-on research experience for City of Worcester middle school girls interested
in cutting edge bio-science topics such as building artificial skin, healing the heart and preventing infections.
Applications are due April 1. This is a grant-supported program and is free of charge to selected applicants.

RESEARCH EXPERIENCE FOR UNDERGRADUATES
Undergraduate students from across the country work alongside WPI researchers. This program provides campus based housing and a stipend.
We have opportunities for 8 to 10 undergraduates/year to be engaged in research in one of the most exciting and rapidly developing areas of engineering --- Bioengineering.

The REU Program in Industrial Mathematics and Statistics was started at WPI in 1998 with funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF). It is the first mathematics REU program in the US that exclusively involves students in real-world projects sponsored by corporate partners.
This eight week program offers outstanding undergraduate students the opportunity to work on mathematical and statistical problems in close collaboration with faculty and industrial sponsors.
