REU in Nanotechnology at UMass - deadline February 28, 2009

As partner in helping students gain experiences for their future careers in engineering and the sciences, I am asking you to kindly forward this message those (students, advisors, mentors) who may be interested in our REU program in nanotechnology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Nanotechnology is one of the fastest growing interdisciplinary research areas in science, engineering and technology.  I would like to invite your students to apply for our Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE) Program in Nanotechnology.

This ten week program (June 1 - Aug 7, 2009) provides a stipend of $3400.00, free airfare travel to campus, free lodging in our newest dormitory, and allowances for extra social and academic activities.

Undergraduates in Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, Polymer Science & Engineering, and Mechanical & Industrial Engineering, and minority and underrepresented student are especially encouraged to apply.

Please visit this link for an application and descriptions of the summer projects:  http://www.umass.edu/massnanotech/SURE.htm

THE APPLICATION DEADLINE IS FEBRUARY 28, 2009.

Thanks for your attention to this and feel free to contact us directly if you

have any questions.
